Job Purpose:

To provide leadership for all Community Life Ambassadors on duty in the facility and promote client safety, while fostering a trauma-informed environment      

To provide client services and engagement through appropriate ministry and relational connection in support of maintaining program compliance

To provide administrative support and other documentation as needed

To represent our Mission, Vision and Values and continue to grow professionally and spiritually

Assist Program Director in managing the overnight emergency women and children’s shelter Nueva Vida Haven program. Oversee the processes of providing housing and supportive services to

individuals experiencing homelessness. Assist and lead in the development and implementation of program elements that aid in increasing self efficacy and independence.

This position is full time exempt eligible for benefits (employer paid SDRM medical plans for employee plus dependents monthly premiums) as well as employer paid life/ADD and disability plan, vacation, holidays and sick pay. Also available is affordable dental, vision, voluntary benefits for life/ADD, disability, and a 403B savings plan available.

Skills / Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree required, Master degree preferred in Social Work, Psychology, Ministry or related field from an accredited institution, or 5+ years equivalent and applicable work experience may be considered if applicant is actively working toward an appropriate degree.

 Experience: Minimum 5+ years full-time work experience with the homeless, substance abusers, mentally ill and/or dually diagnosed preferred.  Experience in both direct service and program management/staff supervision preferred.  Nonprofit experience preferred.

 Skills and Abilities:  Working knowledge of general business operations in a nonprofit, social services environment; working knowledge of the management process, especially as it applies to growth and long-term planning; analyze and evaluate budgets and other financial documents as it relates to area of assignment; working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook); typing (min 35 wpm); demonstrated leadership and organizational skills; strong relationship skills and ability to motivate others; coordinate and/or direct a variety of complex tasks and assignments simultaneously and successfully; exercise good judgment and make sensible decisions; attentive to detail; prioritize effectively; effective oral and written communication skills; eagerness to learn and be trained; work both independently and as part of a team; provide information to public by answering questions and requests; regular, timely attendance.
